Journeymen Theatre - The Bundle - Wanstead Quaker Meeting House

Sunday, 18 June, 2017 - 13:30 to 15:00

This play, presented by the Quaker theatre company Journeymen Theatre, was commissioned by QARN (Quaker Asylum and Refugee Network).

Based closely on the story of a real woman and her three young children, The Bundle follows Adilah’s domestic persecution and denial of human rights in Chechnya, and her struggles with the hostile asylum system in the UK.

The play moves from the tradition of the folk story to that of biting satire as it charts Adilah’s bid for freedom, safety and hope.

Age range: 16 +

The play will be followed by a Q&A with Fred Ashmore of the Quaker Asylum and Refugee Network.

Free entry; Donations to Walthamstow Migrants' Action Group and Refugee and Migrant Forum of Essex and London.
